The Youth Transition Services (YTS) is very similar to our adult Community Support program. Participants learn the same independent living skills taught in the TAP and interact with other transitional age youth in weekly outreach activities, sponsored by Cirrus House. Transition age youth may be planning to transition out of foster care or their parents' home or they may already being living on their own but need extra help to maintain their successful independence. The program is designed to promote and enhance independence skills, provide an atmosphere for peer support and provide opportunities for community service. The community service activities (both in TAP and YTS) give transition age youth opportunities to develop leadership skills and altruism.
