The early intervention program at the Cahaba Center for Mental Health provides support and services for infants and toddlers birth through age 2 (0 to 36 months of age) who have a medical diagnosis that can delay normal development or who have a developmental delay causing the child to not meet developmental milestones. - These early intervention support services are focused on teaching the parents and other caregivers' ways to help the child learn and participate in everyday activities. They also prepare infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays for transition to school by providing a variety of aids. - These include but are not limited to specialized instruction, physical, occupational, and speech-language therapies, service coordination, and parent and family education, among others. - The residential programs at the agency include group homes for individuals with serious mental illness. These are structured programs, supervised twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week by qualified staff. - The agency also provides high quality mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services within the limits of available resources to the residents of Dallas, Perry, and Wilcox Counties. - The Cahaba Center for Mental Health offers these services in a manner that respects individual dignity, promotes recovery, and enhances personal, family, and provider relationships.
