List of Short Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs In Bluefield, West Virginia

What is Short-Term Rehabilitation in Bluefield, West Virginia

A short term drug and alcohol rehab program is best suited for short term substance users or abuser's that wish to quit using but are finding it difficult to do so. When you use substances that are habit forming even for a short period of time you can become addicted. Drug addiction exposes itself when you make the decision to stop taking the substance but you are struggling due to physical and/or psychological withdrawal symptoms. If you use a habit forming drug such as meth crack cocaine, heroin, norco, soma, morphine or any other potentially addictive substances for even a short amount of time you may find it difficult to stop on your own without help. If this is the case, a short term drug rehab program in Bluefield could be the right fit.

When you stop using addictive substances abruptly you may experience what are known as withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms can cause both physical and psychological symptoms such as shakiness, weakness, clammy skin, craving, sweating, feeling cold, agitation, crying, irritability, excitability, restlessness, delirium, depression, hallucinations, paranoia, severe anxiety and more. Withdrawal symptoms can bring about compulsions to keep using the drug to alleviate the symptoms despite your intent to discontinue using the substance. If this sounds like you or your loved one's situation, you could receive effective help from a short term drug and alcohol treatment facility.

The first phase of a short term rehabilitation program for addiction is detoxification. Medical detox is a process that helps to alleviate withdrawal symptoms with medications designed to safely and comfortably get you off the substance. After detox is complete, you will receive psychological assistance and education to help you maintain your recovery so that you may live a productive, clean & sober life. A short term addiction treatment program in Bluefield, WV is typically 28 to 30 days in length and the end results can change your life forever.

Hope Valley, Inc. was established as a private, non-profit corporation for treatment and care of alcoholics. The impetus for the program came from private citizens in Surry County who wanted to provide people with alcohol problems a way to become productive citizens. At the request of these citizens, Bryant and Marion Bivins came to Dobson, NC from Durham where Mr. Bivins served as Director of the Damascus Home, a home for alcoholics. They opened the first facility, our Men's Division, in 1968. In 1970, a separate facility for women was opened. In 1986, our services were again expanded to serve drug dependent clients.
